To celebrate National Pizza Day, the team at Steven Mears Funeral Directors, Sydenham, and Pizza GoGo collaborated to give back to the less fortunate and the local community of Lewisham.
Pizza GoGo pizzas were served at the branch and people were invited to come and enjoy a drink and some pizza, with choices ranging from vegetarian and margheritas to meat feasts and more!
Prior to the event, the Steven Mears team had been communicating with local charities; Single Home Project, APAX Support Ltd and Shelter.
As well as building relationships with the local organisations, the aim was to establish a network of care and offer fundraising and campaign help where it is needed.
Funeral Director Bobby Maull-Robinson and Operations Manager Tony Pearson visited the Single Home Project charity on the day and donated some pizzas and bottles of fizzy drink, which was greatly appreciated by the people using the facility.
Bobby said: “The event at the branch had a great turn out and, even more importantly, we were able to donate some pizzas to the local charities.
“I would like to give a huge thanks to Pizza GoGo (Sydenham), Reverend Abe (Methodist Church Upper Norwood), the Steven Mears Team and Tony for helping to put on such a successful event.
“The work does not stop here, the more events we put on, the closer we are to really establishing our place in the local area, not just as a Funeral Directors, but as a hub of the community.”
