What you need to know about buying a Choice Funeral Plan online

Buy a prepaid funeral plan with your Local Funeral Director

We’ll nominate a Funeral Director to carry out your wishes, all of our Funeral Directors offer the same high standard of service.

If there is not a suitable Funeral Director in our immediate network, we’ll search our wider network of Funeral Directors across the country and nominate for you within 30 days of your plan purchase.

Your plan is portable, so if you move home, let us know and we can discuss the possibility of nominating a funeral home closer to you.

A bespoke plan for your funeral

We offer three types of funeral plan for online purchase: Unattended Direct Cremation, Choice Essentials Plan and Choice Plus Plan. These cover the services of the Funeral Director, and the Unattended Direct Cremation also covers the crematorium fees. Choice Essentials and Choice Plus Plans exclude Third-Party fees and other additional products and services.

You will have the option to add Voluntary Contributions to the Choice Essentials and Choice Plus Plans. Your funeral cannot take place without payment being made for essential Third Party Fees, these variable external costs may include doctors, celebrant/minister and cremation or burial fees. These costs are beyond the control of the Funeral Director and are not included in the Funeral Plan. Payment will be required at the time of the funeral.

You can contribute as much or as little as you like now, with the option to add in the future. You can also make contributions towards other products and services such as flowers, limousines, other vehicles, and funeral stationery. Depending upon the amount of Voluntary Contributions you make this amount may or may not be sufficient to pay for Third Party Fees and Additional Products & Services, therefore, additional costs may need to be paid for when the Funeral Plan is redeemed. Prices will be charged at the prevailing rate at the time of redemption.

Personal Details

After deciding on the financial details of your plan you will have the opportunity to state your personal wishes, such as hymns and readings, music to be played at the funeral and charities you may want people to make donations to.

We’ll ask for some details of the person who is purchasing the plan, the ‘customer’, the person who the plan will cover the ‘Covered Individual’ and the name of someone who you may wish to notify about the plan being in place, known as your ‘Nominated Representative’.
