Dodgsons at Halton dealt with my dads funeral. All staff were very friendly, helpful, professional and compassionate at all times. Lee especially helped us through a very difficult time and I cannot praise or thank her enough.

When being faced with the loss of someone, it is very comforting to know they are being looked after on their final journey. The care and respect that Dodgsons showed following the passing of my mother and to all the family was fantastic. They took care of everything for us, and there were a lot of the little touches that mean so much to everybody. On the day of the funeral, we requested the guests wear a splash of red and we were so pleased the staff on the day also did this. My mother would have been proud of what Lee, Andy and all the team did for us. Thank you all.

Funeral itself was excellent but let themselves down by loosing the cheque payment for the funeral and thus causing stress and hurt. Apparently due to a rogue member of staff now fired. Don't pay them by cheque is the moral.

The service we received from WM Dodgson and son was amazing. All the staff was very understanding and very caring at the difficult time of our mum passing. Jackie was fantastic she was helpful and very kind from the start and kept us informed of what was going on. If a problem occurred she would contact us straight away and got straight onto resolving the problem. We could get in touch any time if we had any questions and they was always on hand to answer them. On the day of the funeral everything ran smoothly and the staff was amazing making sure everything went to plan. Thank you from all the family.

At a very difficult time, WM Dodgeson and in particular Jane Lister our funeral arranger, made the whole process dignified and easy to understand. Nothing was too much trouble and our dads funeral was a fitting send off. Thank you

Dodgson and Son were helpful and brilliant in organizing the funeral arrangements for our dear Aunt Georgina, from start to finish. They sorted all paperwork, in spite of postal difficulties with Royal Mail when registered documents went missing for two weeks, and provided everything we could have wished for. In particular, Jane could not have been more helpful or caring. Thank you so much for everything that you did, we are very grateful indeed.

Right from the start Wm. Dodgson & Son have provided exemplary service. I was very impressed with Davids professionalism on the night of my mums passing, when he came to visit us to discuss next steps and also on the day of the funeral. David referred us to Andy to support us with the funeral arrangements. Andy has been fantastic throughout. I was very impressed with Andy’s personable approach and his caring and calm nature. This is never an easy process to go through and Andy went out of his way to make this experience as painless as possible. He checked in with my father and I regularly and kept us up to date with the arrangements. The order of service he helped to develop was really impressive. I’m also grateful to him for the time he spent with my dad during his visit to the chapel of rest. Andy has been a rockstar and been an amazing support to my family and I. Special thank you to Andy and David for the excellent service you provided and for making the process straightforward and as pain free as possible! My family and I will always be very grateful to you both for everything you have done. If you have lost a loved one I can’t recommend W M Dodgson and Sons enough!

My two sisters and I were so well looked after by Andy from the first conversation we had with him over the phone, to meeting in his office to discuss all the arrangements, right through to when we said our goodbyes at the the crematorium.. The kindness he showed us was such a comfort during what was for us, such a difficult time. He looked after all our needs and requirements with patience and empathy. The way my brother was looked after in his care was done with great respect and dignity and we as a family, will always be very grateful to Andy and his team for that. The little caring, personal details throughout our time with Wm. Dodgson were very touching, and it made what was a traumatic experience, so much easier to bear. We would like to express our gratitude to Andy, for all he did for the family and our lovely brother, and for his constant reassurance, kindness and consideration. In the last few years, Wm Dodgson & Son have arranged my mother's and my father in law's funerals very efficiently, so it was with no hesitation that I chose Wm Dodgson to arrange my wife's funeral because I was anxious for a respectful and qualitative send off for my beloved. My high expectations were exceeded! From the moment they arrived to take care of Christine to the day I collected the ashes, they were brilliant, showing huge amounts of empathy, sincerity, care, respect and professionalism. Andy arranged everything, allayed my concerns and generally cared. His recommendations for the funeral celebrant and the choice of venue were superb and they ensured a charming service and a fabulous reception. Thanks to Andy and all the team.

Have used Wm Dodgson on Harrogate Road for the funeral services for both my Mum and Dad. I would rate them very highly for their caring, supportive and emphatic service. They were attentive, in regular communication and did a very professional job on the day of the funeral. A big thank you to Andy and the wider team for making a difficult time more bearable.

I have no hesitation in recommending this service. I am exceedingly grateful to Mikela for all her help and advice when arranging the funeral for my late mother. All my requests, and concerns, were addressed with diligence and kindness . As a result the whole funeral was just as I wanted it to be. I would also like to acknowledge the celebrant, Anna Fill, who was professional and sincere. The whole family and our friends would like me to thank you all.

Everyone I dealt with, was so helpful and understanding. There was a lady who came to collect Michael from home on the day of his passing (sorry I can’t remember her name) She was so lovely and assured me she would make sure Michael was well cared for. It made such a difference.

I can't recommend Wm Dodgson & son Funeral services enough. From the first phone call informing them of my dads death, to dropping us back at home after the funeral, was handled with utmost respect and dignity for my dad and our family. Andy was an absolute gentleman, and all the staff that we came into contact with were very professional and respectful. Anna the celebrant was also a pleasure to share memories of my dad with and she did an excellent job bringing those memories alive. Thank you Dodgsons, and especially Andy.

Toni and her colleagues were so professional on the day of my step father’s funeral.His funeral was very difficult for us to accept totally. We was given 100 and ten % on the day. The funeral went extremely well. Peta the celebrant was delightful she formulated a story about Colin’s life and spoke about it in such a dignified way. NANCY HAS BEEN MARVELOUS!! We lost our mum in April 2023. We chose Wm. Dodgeson as they were recommended by a relative. From the moment we walked in through those doors. Nancy was welcoming and generous. We as a family and with Nancy's help planned a funeral. I cannot put into words how amazing it was to have somebody there, who was gentle enough to look after your feelings, but organised enough to get you through the process. And all of this was done, in what felt like a really effortless conversation. We all left that day a lot happier than we arrived. I attribute that to Nancy. She has also kept us up to date EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. We really have felt very informed. I could go on and explain in detail all of the ways in which Nancy and all the other people we have dealt with here have been really ,really lovely. But I do want to take the opportunity to say. Until a month ago. I would have thought all funeral directors were essentially the same. My friend also lost her mum the day after we did. They went with a different funeral director. It is astonishing to me the difference between the way we and mum have been cared for in comparison to her and her mum. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!! I am not sure I would have fully appreciated how we have been treated, if it weren't for my friend who has has a really awful experience. Mum passing was sudden and there were loads of things to organise. I have been able to concentrate on all the other things and not worry about the funeral at all. I really, really appreciate how easy you made the process. Thank you.

Nancy was amazing. She really takes care of all the arrangements, explains everything clearly and is very compassionate. Lee and the rest of the team were very professional and friendly ensuring the funeral went smoothly on the day. I can’t thank them enough.

I called into your office at Middleton to arrange my mum's funeral. The feeling you get when you walk through the door is calming. It is not like any other funeral directors offices. You are greeted by Nancy who is a lovely lady, she puts you at ease straight away. When you look around the office you don't have gloomy pictures, you don't feel frightened of death. The decorations make you smile. The first time I went in to your office with my two sister's to discuss details for my mum's funeral, my sister's changed dates and times over and over again. Poor Nancy, I kept apologizing, she was very professional and very obliging. Again nothing was too much trouble for her. She just said 'you have to get it right for your mum'. Nancy is a beautiful lady inside and out and very passionate about her job. The compassion, the smiles, the friendliness she has for people who don't want to be arranging family funerals is amazing. x

Hi Nancy this is just for you ! you were there from start to finish when my Mother died I don't think I would have got through as well as I did without all your help and advise. I knew I had made the right choice as soon as I entered the office Nancy was just the person to make me feel at ease, so friendly but very professional, she helped make sure everything ran smoothly with everything. Nancy is such an asset to Dodgson &Son she's one in a million ! So a special thank you Nancy, all your hard work was much appreciated.

The service received from Wm Dodgson and Son Funeral Service has been amazing. So many lovely members of staff especially Nancy and Andy, no job was ever too much for them. Nancy helped arrange everthing down to the smallest details including order of service, pin badges, flowers and much more. Our loved one was looked after so well & the team were very respectful and amazing. On the day of the funeral Andy was an absolute star from walking the funeral car into the street & out of the street I thought that was an amazing touch. All the team made me and my family feel so comfortable and welcome whilst in their care. I couldnt recommend them enough. Andy also made us a memory box at the end of the service including all the flower cards, order or service and roses - such a lovely touch. I honestly cant thank the team enough for everything they have done.

I will be eternally grateful to all the staff at Wm. Dodgson, and especially Jackie, for the care and consideration they showed to Dad following the loss of my beloved Mum. The service was impeccably planned, and delivered with the upmost dignity and respect. I couldn't think of a more beautiful and poignant way to say goodbye and to remember Mum. The last few weeks have been devastatingly difficult. Your professionalism and empathy has allowed us to focus on grieving for Mum, and taken away the stress of planning the funeral. I would like to thank all the team at WM Dodgson In particular Jackie for her kind and caring approach This is the second occasion on asking for their service First the passing of my Father 17 years ago and very recently my mother. On both these occasions I cannot recommend them highly enough. Unlike the big companies I feel the service is more personal , and really looked after through out all the arrangements. We chose Dodgsons at Moortown having met Martin who just happened to be in the office when we called in to make enquiries. Following this meeting all the arrangements were dealt with by Sonia, Andy and David. We were treated with compassion, understanding and professionalism. Everything went smoothly on the day of the funeral and we felt we had been helped to give William as good a send off as possible.

My father – the ‘ever so organised’ – had already prepaid for his funeral service so the choice was providers was out of our hands however the whole family feel that his choice couldn’t have been better Having recently opened a branch in Oulton it was ideally located for us in Woodlesford The initial meeting with Jackie was very professional and she dealt with our questions in a patient, informative manner as did Lee when Jackie was on holiday On the day the team were supportive and helpful as family members wished to act as pallbearers Nothing was too much trouble throughout the whole process – even when family wished to visit the chapel of rest the weekend prior to the service The service went according to plan and we would not hesitate to recommend WM Dodgsons to deal with anyone wishing to give a loved on the best ‘end off’ possible Amanda Bradley
