J&L Sturney Funeral Directors in Lyndhurst have been very busy supporting one of their local charities, the Wessex Cancer Trust. Jenny Dalglish, who is J&L Sturney’s Funeral Arranger and Administrator and her husband John helped out at their ‘Walk of Hope’.
Jenny & John manned one of the woodland pit stops during the walk. Almost 300 people stepped up to take part in the sponsored ‘Walk for Hope’ event in the New Forest on Sunday 10 June to help local people living with cancer. They’ve currently raised £31,000 with more still to come in.
The walkers came together to give hope to friends and family undergoing cancer treatment, remember loved ones and support everyone affected by cancer. They walked either a 10 or 20 mile route which started in Burley Park and moved towards the village of Burley towards Bolderwood, taking in the beautiful New Forest woodland.
Every participant completed their challenge and was cheered over the finish line back at Burley Park, where they received their medal and well-earned refreshments.
All of the money raised will be used to provide practical and emotional support to people living with cancer in Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.
Both Jenny and John look forward to helping out again next year.
