Janine was great, she was nearly able to think for us. At a time like that your head is all over the place, you just can't think straight, we were so grateful for that. Having said that every member of the staff new their jobs extremely well. THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING THINGS SO MUCH EASIER FOR US.

Janine and all the team where excellent at their jobs, very kind, professional and handled every part of the funeral with dignity. Myself and My Father were very impressed with Janine and how she came over to the house and explaining everything and then checked up on us. I would recommend and use James Brown again in the future.

I have just recently lost my beautiful Mother. My sister and I were floundering, never having had to arrange a funeral before but Lisa at the Lisburn Road branch was incredible. She just took all the stress and worry out of our hands and sorted it all out. NOTHING was too much trouble. They made my Mother look beautiful. Every single member of staff that we dealt with was professional, sincere and sympathetic. We could not have asked for better. I would highly recommend them. I cannot praise this firm highly enough.

From the moment I met Lilian at Rosepark she was so kind and compassionate. She was so helpful and took me through all the paperwork I needed to complete but made it so easy. Lilian is one of life’s special people. Also David from Browns was also so helpful on the day as my husband ended up in hospital for an operation on the day of the funeral and David stepped up and helped me with the music to which I was so grateful xx

I dealt with Lilian and Andrew and they were both fantastic. This was such a hard time for me as I had to do everything myself and had never had to do anything like it before. There is so much to organising a funeral - but I never felt overwhelmed as I had fantastic support from Lilian in particular. We were on the phone several times on the same day at one point and I had random questions for her but she was great. I asked for additional flowers - not a problem. I wanted the name plate changed on the coffin - not a problem. They were so helpful and I cannot thank them enough for making such a difficult process so much easier to bear.

Short review: Excellent service, genuinely caring staff and the best place to go for the worst needs. Lilian is a superstar and will not steer you wrong. ------ Before needing to, I never for a second considered what really needs to happen when someone dies. I also never considered what funeral director one might use, the practicalities or reasons. On the day my wife died, I briefly tried to search for a few local funeral directors close to home and compare, but I was in no state to do so and simply opted for JB & Sons as they were closest. Hand on heart, I can say I was so incredibly fortunate to land on them as they were the absolute best people to take care of us. Specifically I want to mention Lilian, our funeral arranger who held my hand every step of the way with genuine empathy, honest advice and heartfelt care, I honestly cannot sing her praises enough - as awful as her line of work is, she made it very easy, was very patient and so gentle as we dealt with every painful step. From our first phone call, she told me what to do, gave me space to call back to have my wife collected on our terms. The gentlemen who arrived at our home were solemn professionals who treated us all with absolute respect, took time to make sure we knew what they were doing and what happened next. Throughout the process, Lilian (and Janine) took care of my wife and of us beautifully, nothing was too much trouble for them - even when I completely changed the funeral arrangements a few days in, they were nothing but supportive. They do not try to push un-necessary extras or additional services that you later look back on and feel swindled by. Everything was at our pace and our choice, we asked for advice and received appropriate, sensitive guidance with full freedom of what we chose. The funeral itself was conducted brilliantly. The undertakers were smart, professional and courteous, absolute gentlemen who took great care of us all and again were very patient and happy to go with our flow. You will not be led wrong here. I'd recommend them to anyone and will sing Lilian's praises until the cows come home. Thank you!

Thank you for everything. All staff were highly professional and caring. The limo drivers (Debra& William) kept us calm when we were running a little late for the crematorium, our fault for talking to so many people after the service. Water was provided as it was a hot day, which was a lovely touch. Barry was great. Lovely to speak with him the night before to get everything straight in our minds for the following day & was a great help to my partner with the music. Lilian & Janine were both lovely. We seen Lilian more and she comforted us so much during the 1st few days of the hardest time in our lives. Thank you xo (Dundonald branch )

Thank you for making such a sad occasion so much more bearable. From the initial call to Claire and the first visit the detailed personal but very professional arrangements meeting to discuss plans and how to make it so respectful and dignified. Then Claire and the whole team Chris and Tom dealt with everything with dignity, calm and kindness. The measured & compassionate approach you gave to every aspect, helped us when we needed it most. Everything was just as our friend had wanted and we had hoped. The team helped give her the send off she truly deserved respected all our wishes and made it so personal I knew that Claire cared. I cannot recommend this funeral director enough and especially Claire as she went above and beyond and kept reassuring us throughout and done exactly what we had done even adding in personal touches were appropriate to make us feel loved and appreciated. I really appreciated the follow up call to touch base and see how we were doing considering - Thank you ❤️

This is the second time the Whiteabbey team have taken care of a funeral for my family. It made everything so much easier, having confidence in them and knowing how professional they are. Jean was with us through everything both times. She was so kind and attentive, at the same time taking care of all arrangements, for which I am very grateful. The background workers made my mother up beautifully and Brandon took care of everything on the day of the funeral. I cannot recommend James Brown & Sons highly enough.

After scouting out a previous funeral parlour, which was quite unprofessional and cold in their reception to us, my Cousin and I were greeted with the total opposite when we visited James Brown & Sons Funeral Directors to enquire about his Father's (My Uncle's) Funeral. Our initial plan was to visit 3 funeral parlours, the first previous funeral parlour was rude and cold, but after our second choice, James Brown & Sons, we knew we did not need to view a third place. The professionalism, understanding, empathy and genuine warmth and Love of Christ we were met with could be felt. The place itself matches the good people who work there. It's beautiful, bright / not at all dour or drab and it's overly accommodating. They took care of EVERYTHING from pick up of loved one to offer of embalming or simply dressing, flower arrangements, offer of old fashioned or new transport. The preparation is made very clear and understandable. They put you instantly at ease. Even the area is beautiful with a gorgeous oak tree overhanging, plenty of car parking space and hedges built around for privacy. They offer so much varied options to suit anyone's needs, open coffin/viewing, favoured songs of artists to play at funeral and they supply their own ministerial speakers if you need one. They are patient and work with your financial situation. A credit to the public and they deserve more praise than what I can think to give them for what they did for my Cousin and his loss of his Father. 10/10. Thanks especially to Glynis, Lawrence, Jean.

This is the 3rd family member we have burried using james brown 1st one 33 years ago , they handled my mums funeral just over a week ago , from the body being collected to the phone calls and the service , limosine drivers to say they were outstanding is an understatement they handled my mum and our family with the greatest dignity and respect . I could not recomed this place enough. Thankyou jean and glynis for everything you done for us .

I cannot praise James Brown Funeral Directors enough for the personal and professional way in which they handled the funeral of my late partner Sharon. Ann-Marie, Rebecca and all the staff were so sympathetic and helped in every way they could. I highly recommend James Brown's because without the help and support I received from them all things would have been extremely difficult for me to get through. Thank you to all concerned.

My wife and I want to formally thank Lisa at the Dunmurry branch of James Brown for her kindness, patience and understanding throughout our journey in making our funeral plans. We did run into a specific problem regarding our choice of cemetery. I though we had no chance, but with her encouragement, advice and support...we were eventually successful. Whilst this took quite a while, Lisa was a constant encouragement for us. We want to say a big thank you for that. I know in any business we all expect politeness, knowledge and professionalism....but to get all of that with quiet, steady and warm assistance is to be acknowledged as something special. Given that people only tend to deal with undertakers during very difficult times, I have to say that my own personal experience with James Brown & Sons in Dunmurry was made so much more bareable thanks to the 1st class service we as a family received. From our initial contact through to the day of the Funeral service everything was faultless. When 1st contact was made, the funeral arranger ( Lisa ) agreed to meet with us at home to discuss our plans, Lisa's manner and professionalism during our constant chats over 10 days was exemplary. On a personal note I can only imagine how difficult a job it is to be constantly dealing with people's grief, people more often than not you've never met before, so Thank you so much James Brown & Sons (Dunmurry) and especially Lisa for your understanding and quality of service 👏👏

They were so kind and respectful and Lisa guided me through all the paperwork etc. in a gentle, supportive and professional manner which made dealing with my mum's funeral so much easier at a sad and difficult time in my life. I have nothing but praise for them and would have no hesitation in recommending James Brown to others.

I have to say that Chloe from the newtownards Road branch had been great with me, she let me take my time on choosing my necklace etc, i never felt rushed in any part of arranging mums funeral. I was impressed with all parts of the service provided to me.

Anyone I dealt with did an amazing job from the first call to the on call funeral director Mike to when we first came to funeral home and met Chloe & Andrew. Any time I called office or was there in person Joan and Deborah were super helpful. The whole team at Brown’s did a great job and the service was exactly what we wanted.

The whole team were knowledgeable, kind, considerate, caring and respectful. They made a difficult distressing time bearable through excellent customer service. Riana was fantastic and helpful in all planning aspects, Anne Marie so kind in her caring and support when I first visited my husband at rest, Brandon as the funeral director discussing with me and planning the funeral to run so smoothly and Mark as the officiant who spoke so eloquently and really described my husband so well after a short family meeting that most there thought he was a close family friend. It was a true celebration of my husbands life and this was so appreciated by us all.

My mother-in-law Eileen passed away on 20 December - the undertakers were exceptionally kind and efficient in taking care of all the details - they went far and beyond - my particular thanks to Deborah who managed the process from the outside. Excellent customer care service.
