B Matthews helped us when my father passed away in November. The team, in particular Charley, were all incredibly kind and professional during the whole process and made us feel like Dad was in good hands whilst we made the appropriate preparations. We recently used B Mathews at Park Gate after our father sadly passed away, Lisa in the office, was really helpful from the start and all the way through the entire process. We found the help given made the planning of the funeral much more bearable at a very difficult time. Neil was a huge help on the funeral day. Jane Roberts posting - We recently needed to use the services of Lisa and her Team at the Park Gate office following the sudden death of my husband, Steve. From start to finish Lisa made me feel less panicky, calmer and assured me that she would look after Steve for me until his funeral. This she did. On the day of the funeral Neil and his Team made sure Steve had a seamless send off and looked after all of us with great care and consideration. All in all Lisa and her Team helped to make everything just that little bit more bearable, for which I will be forever grateful. I wouldn't hesitate to go to her again, if needed, and would highly recommend Lisa and her Team to anyone that might need some kind and caring assistance at a difficult time.

Lisa at B Matthews arranged both my Mum and Dad's funerals in quick succession. She guided us through the process from start to finish on both occasions making the task more manageable during a very difficult time. Lisa recommended Charlie Keene for the funeral officiant and he gave my parents the send off they deserved, don't underestimate the difference a quality officiant makes to a funeral. Gill, Gareth and the team at B Matthews Funeral Directors were wonderful. They provided thoughtful, kind and respectful care for both my mother's and father's funerals, sadly just a year apart. Gill co-ordinated everything we needed, including liaison with the church, flowers etc. I have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

My family and I were extremely impressed with the excellent service we received from B Matthews in Woolston. Gill and Lee were very professional, caring & understanding when arranging our beloved Dad’s funeral. They listened sensitively and attentively to our wishes and helped us to provide a service which was very fitting to dad’s long life. Because of family circumstances we had just 10 days to organise everything. Gill and Lee were very mindful of this and everything was swiftly put in place to deliver a good ‘send off’ for our 96 year old dad. We would highly recommend this funeral director.

Gill and the team at Woolston treated my Son and I with such sensitivity whilst planning the final journey of my Husband "JC" at the end of April. Gill has such compassion and empathy and made sure that every detail we requested was put in place and kept us informed every step of the way. At such a difficult time it is so important to have a people who understand everything you are going through and make the process for want of a better word 'bearable'. On the day itself Matt the funeral director explained everything that was going to happen from when he first arrived at our house and also for when we arrived at the Crematorium. On our arrival he checked that everything was in place and reported everything back to us prior to the Service and everyone entering the Chapel. He talked our two Sons who were going to be pallbearer's through their roles and put them at their ease as this was quite a daunting prospect for them both. I would highly recommend Gill and her team to anyone who has to go through this sad and hard time and again thank them all for making the day run seamlessly and easier to cope with.

I was very happy that we chose Matthews in Woolston again. They arranged my Mum's funeral several years ago and so we also wanted them to organise that of our Dad. Look no further than these amazing people to help celebrate your loved one’s life. With no idea where to start planning Dads cremation we met Sam. With her expert guidance we were able to plan the perfect celebration of Dads life. She listened to all we had to say and allowed us to make all the decisions at our pace. Sam’s communication was amazing, she put us in contact with an amazing celebrant Lisa , who took our memories and made them flow.The systems in place to listen to and choose music, upload photos and approve the order of service were so simple to use. Little touches from Sam for us as a family made a massive difference. On the day, we were dreading, the organisation was spot on, Gareth was amazing as were his team. The venue was stunning, so peaceful and calming, the service flawless and we left feeling a calmness that Dad was truly resting in peace. Thank for all your support and guidance.

Samantha in Shirley Southampton branch was a breath of fresh air and a light in the darkness of bereavement. She was very compassionate and understanding. Took the time to ensure everything was in place and arranged as per my departed mums expressed wishes, and was a pleasure to speak too. B. Matthew's as a company did an excellant job and I would highly recommend them as a funeral arranger. My late wife did some of the planning for her ceremony, before choosing a director to go with she went online and narrowed it downt to two places. She showed up unannounced to both and Sam at B matthews took it in her stride, she walked us through the process for a planb with ease. The other place we viewed that day seemed to be very uncomfortable talking to someone who was due to pass. When it came down to it Sam was brilliant with planning the whole service she was very supportive all the way through.

I was thrown into the unknown when my Dad passed suddenly and unexpectedly, we didn't know who to go with but went with B Matthews because they were local. I can honestly say both mum and myself are so pleased we did. We had a home visit with Sam who was kind, considerate, understanding, respectful and very helpful especially when it came to picking someone to do the service that would meet our requirements. The service was perfect and the limousines used were lovely and the drivers were again very considerate and respectful. From start to finish nothing was to much trouble for Sam, she was a great help for us and made such a difficult time just a little bit easier knowing my dad was very well looked after. A very professional team of people and I would recommend B Matthews with no hesitation.

Sam at B Matthews in Shirley was fantastic from start to finish. She has been kind, caring, helpful & polite, Sam organised our mums funeral, she listened to us & helped us choose what we wanted whilst making sure we got what mum would have liked. Even after the service, Sam made time for me to go there & helped me with ordering my ashes into glass ring, she went above & beyond from the moment we met her. All of the people we met throughout this time, including the drivers of the limos were absolutely brilliant & I would definitely recommend Sam & B Matthews to people in what is the hardest time of their lives.
